ABSTRACT

Risk management in software engineering projects describes an integrated design to prevent project failure with methods, processes, and artifacts that continually identify, analyze, control, and monitor risks. For example, changes in people's lifestyles during the COVID-19 pandemic pose unexpected risks to the information technology industry. Agile is known as a methodology that is responsive and adapts quickly to change. Scrum is the most frequently used method based on the 2016 Agile development survey results. Many studies have produced a risk management framework for Scrum in recent years. However, repeating the risk analysis process and selecting a response to risk becomes a burden for stakeholders, so a framework is needed that can become a support system to help make decisions. This paper used a comparative study of risk management framework literature and literature that utilizes risk management tools and a case study of risk classification using 34k GitHub Issues for data mining. This study proposed a new framework that integrates datasets and machine learning into a risk management framework. The novelty in this paper is that the risk priority scheme is carried out using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB). Further analysis can be carried out to test the overall effectiveness of the framework. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

A lot of misinformation about COVID-19 on social media possibly hinder the practice of healthy behaviors that are essential to protect individuals. This situation is exacerbated by the lack of health literacy in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the influence of social media information exposure on the knowledge and behavior of Indonesians in compliance with COVID-19 protocols. An online survey of 909 people was conducted from July 2 to August 10, 2020. The data collected were knowledge and behavior of preventing COVID-19, while independent variables were socio-demographic characteristics and exposure to social media information. Inclusion criteria were defined as follows: minimum age of 18 years and domiciled in the country during the data collection period. The analysis used for the data collected were univariate and multivariate. The result showed that gender, age, marital status, and social media presence significantly affect a person's knowledge about COVID-19 with a p-value less than 0.05. Enforcement behavior of health and healthy living protocols is significantly influenced by the respondent’s gender, marital status, education level, the island of residence, and exposure to online information. The frequency of exposure to information affects people's knowledge and behavior to implement health protocols and healthy living in the COVID-19 era, and it is further influenced by socio-demographic characteristics. © 2022, Intelektual Pustaka Media Utama. ABSTRACT

Purpose: The paper aims to report the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and investigate survival strategies during the pandemic of traditional retailers. Design/methodology/approach: Exploratory methodology consisting of the literature review and an empirical study was conducted. The theoretical framework of resilience strategy was built to provide a guideline for the empirical study. The empirical study involves a longitudinal study with 30 traditional retailers located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The empirical data was collected using semi-structured interviews in mid-2019 and mid-2020, corresponding to the condition before and during the pandemic. Secondary data sources were also examined to refine the empirical evidence. Findings: The findings confirm that the pandemic has created disruptions in supply and demand, subsequently affecting operations. 90% of the traditional retailers experienced demand reduction, which varied among the retailers (M = 47%, SD = 25%), and 10% of the traditional retailers have not received any profit. The majority of the traditional retailer adopted reactive rather than proactive strategies. To cope with the pandemic, the traditional retailers have focused on efficient strategies and implemented exploitation-oriented strategies combined with exploration-oriented strategies. Trust and social capital were also discovered to explain the reasons behind the resiliency and sustainability of the traditional retailers. Research limitations/implications: Due to the preliminary and explorative nature of the present study, the generality of the findings may therefore be limited. Future research focusing on quantitative analysis using a large sample helps to achieve the generality of the findings. Practical implications: Because the strategies implemented in large enterprises (LEs) usually do not fit in micro-, small-, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), exploring strategies that are consistent with the characteristics of MSMEs and leverage their potentials is necessary. Building ambidextrous retailers through leveraging social capital/network and informal forum, exploiting affordable technology (e.g., social media, marketplace), and honing innovativeness is a way to survive in a dynamic environment. Social implications: Because the traditional retailers have contributed to economic development and social function, the government should empower them to leverage their capabilities through training and strengthen their business ecosystem through collective actions. Originality/value: The study contributes to the resilience body of knowledge concerning the strategies implemented by the traditional retailers during a long and unpredictable disruption in a developing country setting, which is scarce in the literature.

ABSTRACT

The dynamic systems approach was applied to real business incubators to show practical examples of their use. This proposal illustrates and discusses a strategic design tool based on a combination of conventional Business Model representation schemes and Dynamic Systems modeling. This proposal aims to determine government policy's focus on helping business incubators realize increased business performance and revenue start-up strategies. This research is useful for all stakeholders. It is hoped that this research will produce good government policies to encourage economic growth through the management of business incubators in Indonesia. This research will be intense after measuring the influencing factors. It will be processed and analyzed that policy changes will affect future business incubation models for the Indonesian nation after the Covid 19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. This research took samples from several business incubators at several universities in Indonesia in 2020-2023. Descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis to reveal each aspect of the assessment: The ability to solve problems, data interpretation results serve to perfect the successful business incubator model's completeness in Indonesia. © IEOM Society International.
